       building -you will find a delicious homemade pizza restaurant, a  rock climbers gear shop & registration for a private campground  for rock climbers only.

    Miguels  was opened by Miguel and Susan Ventura in 1984 as an ice cream shop that was soon to transform into a homemade pizza restaurant for the next 27 years that served a seasonal tourism trade.Home grown vegetables from the garden as well as homemade dough and sauce made those seasonal customers to return every year.

   Through time Miguels developed as a gathering place for tourist,hikers, bikers, rock climbers, hunters, photographers, birdwatchers ,arch hunters,cavers,

naturalist and outdoor enthusiast of all ages  all coming to enjoy the red river gorge area  and Natural Bridge State Park’s beauty.

   Miguels befriended the climbing community that was coming from around the country and world  that had discovered the hidden world class rockclimbing quality that the rock structure has here that is unique and maybe the best in the country. Funds raising for the Red River Gorge Climbers Coaliton  helped the groups get their start.What started as a message center for that community developed into a campground, gear shop and rental business all dediticated specifically for climbers.

    Miguels Pizza Restaurant is open from 7 am til 9:45 every day except they close Dec 1 thru March 1.Sit down as well as take out service are available with a lot of people calling ahead to avoid the crowds. Tourist showing up at the brink of exhaustion and hunger can quickly rejuevenate with high quality and fairly priced good food  and many leave feeling

that the pizza was the best they ever had.

          In the Daniel Boone National forest of Eastern Kentucky  if you travel to the Red River Gorge area  you will find  a hidden treasure of good food and hospitality served every day all day at Miguels Pizza Restaurant & Rockclimbing shop,across the street from Natural Bridge State Park entrance

       Rockclimbers can purchase climber gear in the store or purchase tent tags for  climbers campground  out back  or rent a room  or retreat house.
